Tuscany Day 4!

We have officially decided that we will stay another night and enjoy our life!!! We woke up and came down for another great breakfast! The plan today is to go to San Gimignano. This town was the trickiest for us to pronounce! But, we knew that it has a place that has won the world championship for best gelato so we knew we had to go! And their wines are supposed to be pretty good to...so you know.

Another breakfast with a view...

Opal saying hello to her beasties! It is so sweet...when we open the door to come down, they are waiting for us, well her!

Parking seemed to be quite difficult in San Gimignano! But entertaining at least!!

We took a bathroom break and this is what we found. Nice to know.

Walking with our yummy sandwiches on homemade bread!

Peter was pretty psyched about seeing another tower!

About to eat the best gelato in the world!!!  After we got it right!

It was sooooo creamy! Totally get it!

On to see the sites!

A little souvenir for Opal...this woman did this all free hand! Opal was clearly impressed!

Up the hill! Got to burn that gelato off!

Somehow we found some wine at the top of the hill!!

And Opal Moon found Peter's sunglasses!

Our buddy Persea watching over Opal as we started to pack up our room! I think he was sad we would be leaving.

Another play on the lawn with the pups!

Mom, I don't want to leave Tuscany, and I definitely don't want to leave Piatina!!

  I know Opal, I know!

Opal saw Sara feed the goats & donkeys & horses grass, so now she picks grass and tries to feed the dogs!

The pool was a bit chilly, but Peter had to go for a swim!
And Sara had to enjoy some wine.

And there he goes!

An after swim water chug!

And time for another picturesque dinner with our friends! Still the only ones here! We have just absolutely LOVED our time here! Magical in every way! And the chef knew how much Peter loves food, so she pulled out all the stops tonight. A real culinary exploration of local street foods of Tuscany! Sara tried it all too! And Opal Moon had lots of bites as well. The sun set was just incredible! We tried to capture it, but of course it doesn't show how gorgeous it really was.

Peter and Opal do a pre-dinner tango

Opal was in the best of spirits! She thought Sara was pretty funny...

And so was Peter!

Just beautiful! We love you Tuscany!

Opal wore him out!
A typical street food sandwich...it was like a spicy sloppy joe but with a lot more complex flavor and tripe!

 Sara even tried it!

Ravioli with wild boar.

We didn't take any more pics because we were just enjoying the moment! A wonderful final night for us!!!

Off to Paris! A final stop before home.

We awoke in Verona to discover that Sara had accidentally booked our flights to Paris for the day before, so we missed those! Whoops! Luckil...
