Another morning in beautiful Tuscany, another breakfast on the veranda! Opal enjoying her toast before we started our day to explore Montepulciano! We have decided that moving on to Cinque Terre isn't in the cards--well we decided to think about it later. We are really just loving it here so much! And everything seemed to be book and so hard to find, it felt like the Universe was telling us to just stay put and enjoy! Another adventure in another Tuscan town and come back to enjoy our amazing spot! We are still the only guests here and this must be what it feels like to have your own staff! We are all pretty relaxed.
Opal Moon's response to Peter trying to tell her no is pretty amazing these days. It's similar to what Maggie does.
Another old church!!
And then on to lunch! We actually were chasing lunch today! Running around trying to find a place that some people we met here were raving about! We couldn't find it, so we went to this spot and it ended up being great! When are we going to learn that perfection is right were you are! But, guess its good for burning off all of these pastas!!! Also, it's a bit of a time crunch because most places close for lunch around 2-2:30, and we NEVER want to miss our lunch!!
We really loved this wine! We ended up buying 2 bottles to bring home!!
a little canape starter!
Apparently Sara never really knows where we are. Could be the wine, could be the lack of Italian?? Not so sure. But Peter was right it is Montepulciano!
After lunch, we needed a little dessert, so off to an old spot for a tiny cannoli! Nicole, we thought of you my dear!
Sara and the cannoli
Opal really wanted some of that cannoli! But we had to draw the line somewhere.
After lunch, we knew we needed some exercise and a challenge, so up some steep hills of Montepulciano, on to a chocolate shop, and then to the terrace and tower we went! With Opal! No stroller this time up the stairs!
An old church we found. No one was even in it!
Up up up the streets!
The views are amazing around here!
We left Opal here to take the picture above. She seemed fine!
We bought a chocolate spoon, a chocolate rose, and some white chocolate thing with pink dots!
In order to get to the terrace and tower of this old building, you first go through the records room!
So worth the climb!! The terrace! Opal has one thing on her mind of course!
We climb to the tower next!
View from up top!
We were up there!!
After our climb, we thought we should get back to paradise Piatina! So, a quick look at Leonardo Da'Vinci's horse statue and then back to our car!
Our drive back to the agriturismo...
Once we got back, we sat on the lawn overlooking Tuscany, played with the dogs and they brought us Prosecco, fresh picked cherries from the tree and strawberries! We are getting VERY spoiled!
It was pretty romantic, but the one getting fed cherries was our dear Opal!
And then dinner! And what a dinner it was!!!
And, still trying to determine what we are to do...move on or not?? Looks like we will be staying another night!!!
How Sara is dealing with all the smoking...well not really here at all, but in general in Europe!
This dinner was quite epic!!! We ordered ALL the pastas! And we thought it would just be a sampler, but no, it was a whole plate for each of us!!! eek This was quite an epic dinner
I mean, we really ate our faces off! Peter didn't want to call it around 11:30pm, because he thought we would offend the chef if we said we were full! Opal did really well considering her parents were out of control!!! We did not have the dolce! We did NOT have anymore, we did go to bed.
