But, we didn't let it stop us and we decided to enjoy our last bits of time in Verona before hitting the road to Milan to catch our flight to Paris!
We hit the streets! Bags packed and waiting in the hotel!
Peter saw this church, went in, and took this pic.
That's an old city wall!
This was a real highlight for Peter! We found this cheese and meat truck at this super locals market in Verona. He was mesmorized by giant wheels of fresh parmisean, cured meats, and everyone speaking Italian! We got some cheese and Peter got 3 different meats to take home...he was so happy.
****As happy as this meat purchase made Peter, we claimed that we had meat on our form when we got back and it all got taken at customs! Peter was devastated. It was a very sad day for him. He had been dreaming about serving our parents Italian salamis for Opal's first birthday. Good news...all of our wine made it. Whew!
Walking to find our lunch spot!
We came to a little pasta place. Opal was fast asleep and the music was blaring! Another great meal!
So sad to be leaving. Peter may have been staring at pasta being made.
The staff here was VERY young! One of the chefs looked 14!!!
Oh, good! We found a really old bar to have an outside drink!
Peter found his place in Verona Italy.
And then off to Milan to catch our flight...this time we made it! Right day and time.
Flying over the French Alps!
Flying into Paris...the tower is down there!
After landing, we made our way to the hotel we were staying at...right at the airport and we were on to dinner! We had such a lovely dinner with awesome people who worked at the hotel. It was a great way to end the trip! The flight home was good and we made it back safe and sound. Opal Moon even got to sit next to another little baby, Vesper, and they were very cute together. We are back and a bit jet lagged, but so happy from our incredible time! It truly was magical and something we will never forget!
Opal was confused as to what to drink at dinner!
Oh wait, she found it!
And then we posed her next to Peter's psychadelic beer.
We may have tired Opal Moon out!
Goodbye Paris! Until next time! We were really excited to ride upstairs in the plane!
THE END.
